sprained finger

I sprained my finger two days ago.
Nooron threw a basketball in gym. I was talking to Rufus--i mean, Monica--and Dufus (Nicole) when the ball bounced off the backboard. And came crashing down towards my head. After which I promptly stuck my hand up. Then it hit my finger. And my finger bent in a way a finger is never supposed to bend.
So now I have popsicle sticks wrapped around my finger with medical tape. Which is apparently called a splint. Which is apparently going to help it heal.
Gahhhh it so hard to type.

But no, that's not all. I also burned my *other* finger. On the same hand.
In Home Arts today, we were making pancakes. With a big hot griddle. And i accidentally touched it. And now have a big ol' burn on my finger. Owwww.

But no. that's not all.

Just kidding (i'm really bored) Adios.

pondering over women's rights

In Language Arts, we are learning about women's rights and the women who fought for it. So, today, in l.a., my teacher who i will not name is telling us how she has found a "pattern" of women who grow up disadvantaged (poverty, abuse, loss of parents, etc.) grow up to changethe world. Her examples were Oprah and Eleanor Roosevelt. So what does this mean? Does this mean that something terrible has to happen to us for us to do something good? Do all the good people of the world have to have been poor, ugly, and abused? Geez, she is a complete and utter idiot.

In other news, my grandparents have come along with my aunt from India and they are staying for 3 weeks.

In other other news, I have a new website called LexWasHere, which you can check out at www.lexwashere.webs.com. It's amazing, so please become a member and sign my guestbook!

In other other other news, I went to the orthodontist today and they said that my palette expander has expanded my palette enough so I don't have to turn it anymore, but I have to keep it in or else my teeth will grow back unexpanded. The good news is that the gap between my teeth will grow back.

Bebo is the new AIM Profiles!

Grrrr. AIM Profiles switched to Bebo and now I don't have a nice colorful About Me page. It is all just one blecky About Me box-thing. I HATE YOU BEBO!!!!
I need to vent.
Not just about Bebo.
Also about a certain b**** who I shall call Rebecca. Yes, that's her name. Rebecca.

So, I am sitting with Rebecca at lunch and my friend who I shall call Xandra is sitting next to me and she is hungry and I have 2 cookies so she asks me for a cookie. I say yes because I am a generous person and it is a shortened period so she eats one. Then, Xandra is still hungry, so she asks Rebecca for a cookie. Rebecca replies rudely saying, "One of those cookies is for me. Guess who the other cookie is for?" (Rebecca's bad attempt at a joke) So Xandra (who, btw, is the stupidest person I know) guesses, "Me?" Rebecca, sarcastically replies, "Yes." and turns around So, Xandra takes a cookie. Rebecca turns back around and sees Xandra with the cookie in her mouth. She then, for some unknown random reason, grabs my cookie, crumbling it. So I take her cookie. It's only fair. An eye for an eye, a cookie for a cookie. So she calls me a b**** and throws the cookie crumbs at me, and tries to grab her cookie back, so I throw her cookie at her. She calls me a b**** again, and I asked her how I'm the b**** when *she* stole *my* cookie. Rebecca claims I "overreact" all the time.

So, what do you think, faithful reader? Who is the b****? Is it I or is it *Rebecca*?

OMG! I exercised!

I ran 2 miles today. I forgot to time myself, but I think it was about 30 minutes. It would've been less if i didn't have to stop for my dad. Yeah, lame-o me went running with *both* my parents. My mom went ahead of us to run 5 miles while my dad and I ran 2 miles. My dad almost died, and had to stop and walk most of it. So I would like, run, then stop and wait for him to catch up. The weather was like, really nice today, so I actually enjoyed it. But, of course, dad had to slooowww mee dowwwnnn. I felt good. Maybe I'll run tomorrow, but I have church and my end-of-season basketball party, so, I might be stuck. Right now, I'm babysitting my lil sis. And, of course, updating Facebook. See yaz.

Catch-Up: OMG CRAZY WEEK

Wow, this week (at school, esp.) was craazzzeeee!!!

Monday:
We won our basketball game. We were ahmayzing. We've now won two games total. Be jealous.

Tuesday:
Tuesday was kinda boring, actually. Whatever.

Wednesday:
Wednesday was, like, all warmy. Like, 60 degrees. And we've been having single digits for the past few weeks, and all of a sudden, it's like BAM! Warmness! I wore flats and my toesies didn't freeze!!! It was crazy, dudes.

Thursday:
Now comes the really crazy part. So, it's 6th period. For me, art class. We're making these coil clay things--mine's a black box with hot pink bubbles with a hot pink lid with black bubbles. Be very jealous. But that's not the point. So I've just been coiling clay, so I've got clay crap all over my hands. And guess what? The fire alarm goes off. So we're all rushing into the hallway, and then, to make it even more suspenseful (lit. term--oh yeah!), some random person (probably a secretary) goes over the loudspeaker. "All students and teachers please evacuate the building immediately." Normally, like during a drill, some of the teachers stay back, to make sure everyone is quiet or whatever. So now we're scared. Also because 6th period is a lunch period and they don't have drills during lunch periods. Then, we go into Code Green mode. Code Green is an evacuation procedure. It starts out like a fire drill, then we all walk across the street and stand in the Rec Center parking lot with our homerooms. So we start walking across the road and it's like freezing with the wind at like 50 mph, and Mike is saying it's so nice and breezy (idiot), and some random guy is in his nice, heated car, playing music and laughing. I swear, he was laughing, with his window rolled down (stupid idiot). So we get into the parking lot and it's absolute chaos. There are kids crying and everyone is trying to find their homeroom teachers, and no one knows where they're going. Some homerooms are lined up but mostly people are just randomly running around. I eventually find Drew and Jesse and Tristan from my homeroom and we form a little group looking for my homeroom teacher. My homeroom teacher, Mrs. Dicks--yes, that is really her name--is like really short, so we're trying to look, and all the guys (idiots) are looking around and I find Mrs. Dicks who is standing right next to them. So we line up and start trying to find other people from our homeroom. C-H-A-O-S times like 1,000. And like, police cars and a fire truck are all going to the school, while Eileen is singing and Amber's blabbering and Michelle is trying to figure out what is going on. After like, half an hour of standing in the cold (with my clay-covered hands), they finally give us the All Clear and we can go in. *Finally*. So we go in and we're stuck in our 6th period classes until they tell us to go to 7th. After 7th, we totally skip 8th period, which I actually kinda like cuz it's Home Arts. I have Gym 9th period, why couldn't they skip that??? So after my 7th period lunch, I go to gym and everyone's freaked out. Here are some of the reasons for the Code Green that I was told:
  • 8th grade prank (some idiot 8th grader pulled the fire alarm)
  • gas leak
  • boiler exploded
  • Gaffer pulled the fire alarm
  • Jon had a gun
  • someone had a bomb
So yeah...
After school i had to get spacers put in--I'm getting a palette expander on Monday--wish me luck.

Friday:
Get ready for a shocker. Jon. Had. A. Gun. No joke. (but that wasn't the reason for the code green--more about that later). They put it in the office, so I guess he doesn't have it. I have been told (and these are just rumors) that his parents are hunters so there are guns in the house. The house has been searched by the police. Jon threatened to kill a bunch of kids, and they told their parents. The parents told the principal/police, and they "handled" the situation. He had an in-school suspension, and he's gonna be suspended for 3 weeks. He's not allowed to come back to school after that unless he gets psychological help. Again--rumors.
So yeah, freaky week. It was, after all, Friday the 13th. And about the Code Green--it was the result of boiler problems. Not sure what exactly happened, but it had nothing to do with the gun.

I'm Sorry

Hello, faithful blog-readers--if there even are any of you...
I owe you all an apology. I haven't posted since forever, and I'm really sorry. In case you were wondering what has happened in my life since then (though you probably don't care), here is a very basic catch-up...
Winter Break Events:
  • My ahmayzing baby cousins came for Christmas/New Year. Nina, age 1 1/2-ish, is ahdorable and loves to just cuddle up with people. She also luvs to sit in my sister's "Flashback Fever" Bratz Bus and honk the little horn. Her older brother, Julian, age 2 1/2-ish, is also ahdorable just not as much because he's older. He is very possessive--everything is "mines". "My Nanook [his stuffed polar bear], my shoes, my Pooh Bear. No tush [touch], Lesa [his name for me]! Iss [it's] MINEZ [never mine, always "minez"]!!!" They're from London, and Julian is very hard to understand with his British accent, congestion, and two-talk. Half the time, his parents don't even understand. Goober also came and I taught him the Bubble song. I say "Bubble, Bubble, Bubble. Bubble, Bubble, Bubble. Bubble...Bubble..." and he goes, "Pop!". He still remembers it and I sang the bubble part to him over the phone and he went pop. LuvLuvLuv him!!!
  • My Christmas Outfit::a purple sparkly short-sleeved ruched banded bottom tunic; dark gray leggings; a silver tank top; black fold-over boots; silver chandelier earrings.
  • New Year's Eve::For my mom, winter break was like a little reunion for her and her 3 siblings because they were finally all together under one roof which they haven't been since my grandfather's funeral. I think. So for new year's eve, they decided to have a really cheesy party. With karaoke. And my mom was on call--she's in the EMS--and she had to go to an emergency. She got back, like, ten minutes before 2009. We watched the ball drop and made noise and stuff, but we couldn't be too loud cause there were three babies sleeping upstairs.
But after that I can't really remember anything besides Midterms. Yep, we had Science Midterms last week, ugghhh. Wednesday and Thursday this week are Math Midterms and my L.A. Midterm is due in like 3 weeks. I hate Ms. Kleman.

And my nose-puking on Saturday night. *Say what???* Yeah, on Saturday night, after dinner, my stomach kept hurting and I was babysitting my little sister. Well, it got really bad so I had to call my parents, who, luckily, were in-town at a party. They rushed back and my mom was gonna give me Pepto-Bismal. Before I could finish it, it came back out along with my dinner and some milk. Some puke came out my nose, too. It was *disgusting*. And you're probably grossed out just reading this. IMAGINE PUKE COMIN' OUT YER NOSE, PEOPLE!!! So yeah, that was pretty disgusting. Then (no, there's no more puke, it's okay), I got my stomach started tightening which is apparently called "gripes". So I had gripes. The next morning, I wasn't hungry at all but my dad insisted I needed food because my stomach was empty. Also, my head was hurting and my leg was tingling which is apparently signs of low blood sugar. Whatever. I'm better now, but I'm still watching my hunger levels. I had gripes last night, too. Augh.

BTW, I'm getting a palet expander on Wednesday. Wish me luck!

So, now you're all catched up and I can say bye.
Adios, amigos!
